Residential rooftop Solar PV installation on a home

Residential Solar PV

Generate more of your own electricity with Solar PV.

Forward Eco manages the journey from initial assessment through system design, installation and handover.

Solar, explained simply

Turn daylight into electricity you can use at home.

Solar photovoltaic panels convert daylight into electricity. Electricity generated and used on-site can reduce the amount purchased from the grid.

Actual generation and financial benefit vary by property, system, tariff and usage pattern.

A south-facing roof is not mandatory.

Solar + Battery

Use more of the electricity your system generates.

Excess Solar generation can potentially be stored in a battery and used later rather than being immediately exported.

Solar FAQs

Practical questions, clearly answered.

Does my roof need to face south?

No. Roof orientation is one factor, but a south-facing roof is not mandatory. Suitability depends on the overall roof or installation area, orientation, shading and expected generation.

Does Solar work on cloudy days?

Solar PV can still generate electricity in diffuse daylight, although output varies with conditions and is typically lower than in strong sunlight.

How is system size decided?

System size is based on available installation area, orientation, shading, electricity usage and the objectives for the property.

Can I add a battery?

Yes. A battery can be considered with a new Solar installation, and in many cases can also be added to an existing compatible Solar system.

What happens to electricity I do not use?

Depending on the system and arrangements in place, surplus electricity may be stored in a battery or exported to the grid.
